EPISCOPAL CHURCH WOMEN (E.C.W.)

The E.C.W. is an organization designed to assist the women of the Episcopal Church in carrying on Christ’s work of reconciliation, mission, and ministry in the diocese, community, nation and world.

Every woman of the Episcopal Church is automatically a member of the E.C.W. and each is encouraged to become an active member of the E.C.W. The meetings of St. Cyprian’s E.C.W. are held at the church every 2nd Saturday, September through June, at 10 a.m.

Activities of our E.C.W. include:

• Annual Fall Bazaar;
• Decorating of the church for Advent and Christmas;
• Shrove Tuesday Supper;
• Annual Parish Picnic;
• St. Cyprian’s Day Dinner;
• Recognition of Graduates;
• Furnishing a repast for each bereaved parish family;
• Sending cards to the bereaved, sick and shut-ins;
• Annual donations to Church Periodical Club, Washington National Cathedral, Boys’ Home, Jackson-Field Home;
• Working with H.E.L.P. (a community organization) to assist the needy by collecting food items and monetary donations each 4th Sunday and preparing 75 bag lunches each 5th Saturday);
• Collecting for the United Thank Offering and Episcopal Relief and Development twice a year.
